Two East Tennessee State University online master's programs have been ranked among the nation’s best by OnlineMasters.com.

ETSU’s online master’s in individual, family and community sciences was ranked 7th in the nation, while the online master’s in sport science and coach education ranked 18th. Both programs are in ETSU’s College of Health Sciences.

"This national recognition reflects what we work hard to deliver in the ETSU College of Health Sciences: rigorous, career-relevant programs that offer students the flexibility they need to be successful,” said Dr. Jeff Snodgrass, dean of the College of Health Sciences. “Our college offers some of the fastest-growing and highest-demand health-related programs in the clinical and rehabilitative sciences, and it’s critical that we design programs in a way that is accessible for working professionals.”

The online master’s in individual, family and community sciences focuses on the diverse needs of communities and individuals through community resources. Students completing this program are eligible to apply for the Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) certification through coursework approved by the National Council of Family Relations.

The online master’s in sport science and coach education, strength and conditioning concentration, is an interdisciplinary field that combines principles of sport science, coaching and management to enhance athletic performance and promote overall athlete well-being. The concentration is among the few of its kind in the United States and is recognized for producing some of the best strength and conditioning coaches in the nation.

OnlineMasters.com is an independent higher education research platform that ranks programs on four core factors: academic quality, graduation outcomes, cost and return on investment and student support resources.

The rankings underscore ETSU’s commitment to offering students a flexible, high-quality education across numerous top-ranked programs at an affordable cost. It’s also the latest recognition for the university, which recently earned the prestigious Carnegie Community Engagement Classification.
