ETSU celebrates 30 years of ETSU PRIDE with redesigned yard signs that welcome students and showcase community support across the region.    

As the start of the fall semester approaches at East Tennessee State University, the familiar ETSU PRIDE yard signs start popping up in front of homes and businesses throughout the region to welcome new and returning university students. But this year, these iconic signs sport an updated look, marking a milestone in a beloved campus tradition.

For 30 years, ETSU has celebrated ETSU PRIDE each August. This initiative began as an idea tossed around by a few members of the ETSU National Alumni Association Board of Directors, and it grew into an annual weeklong observance designed to build school spirit and strengthen connections between the university and the communities it serves.

Today, the program continues to be a meaningful way for businesses, organizations, alumni and community members to proudly show their support for ETSU while welcoming new and returning students to campus – and the region – each fall.

Through the years, the navy blue and white ETSU PRIDE yard signs have been modified periodically, reflecting historic changes in the university’s branding.

The colorful new signs feature the university’s “E” logo and ETSU PRIDE theme against mountain images in shades of blue underneath a gold sky.

“When our communities display their ETSU PRIDE, they help create a warm and encouraging atmosphere for students as they begin a new academic year,” said Lee Ann Davis, ETSU senior director of Alumni Operations. “It is a visible reminder our Buccaneers are supported not only on campus, but throughout the region. Our ETSU PRIDE program is a wonderful way to thank students for choosing our university.”
