ETSU Health is continuing a tradition of caring for our community and supporting cancer patients with a new fundraising event, Bikes for Breast Cancer.

The motorcycle run will take place Saturday, Nov. 8, at ETSU Health’s clinic at 325 N. State of Franklin Road in Johnson City.

A suggested donation of $20 per participant will benefit the Ballad Health Patient Assistance Fund, which assists with transportation costs, utilities and more.

Check-in is from 9-10 a.m., with kickstands up at 10:30 a.m. An hour-long route through the community will conclude back at the clinic with a free lunch for all participants.

Free coffee will be provided before the run begins, and participants will also receive ETSU Health swag.

ETSU Health Surgery’s new Division of Surgical Oncology is sponsoring the event. ETSU Health offers a team approach to breast cancer treatment that includes surgery, medical oncology and radiation oncology.

Dr. Natalie Scott, breast surgeon, offers numerous approaches to surgical care of breast cancer, including sentinel lymph node biopsies, reverse axillary mapping, lumpectomies with oncoplastic techniques, and several mastectomy options with and without reconstruction.

Dr. Scott works alongside plastic surgeons Dr. Daniel Haynes and Dr. Jeremy Powers to offer the most up-to-date breast reconstruction techniques as part of a multi-specialty breast cancer team.

“We’re here to make sure that patients live the best, the longest, and best quality of life that we can get for them,” Dr. Scott said.

As one of very few breast surgeons currently serving the Tri-Cities, Dr. Scott focuses her practice on surgical treatment of breast cancer and benign surgical diseases of the breast with an emphasis on compassionate care.

ETSU Health Surgery is located at 325 N. State of Franklin Road on the third floor in Johnson City. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call ETSU Health Surgery at (423) 439-7201.
